Music as Resistance | Radio Calais

With Radio Calais

Music is resistance. This is the focus of this month’s Radio Calais episode. Every month, we play the music of resistance. We celebrate the music of people on the move, stranded in Calais. We play the global sounds that cross every border no matter how militarised they become. And we recognise that the music played everywhere and everyday is the music of migration, from Transatlantic Slavery to the Windrush Generation. Reggae, dub, hip hop and soul. But this month, in this terrible time of genocide across the globe, we witness the cruel destruction of Palestinian people, a refugee nation since the Nakba, displaced over and over and over again, our focus on music as resistance to genocide.
